We welcomed our Ranger Scouts (2-4 year old children) and their parents to our first story time of 2019. While it was a small group we had a lot of fun. We read the 2 books I am reading this week to my classes, Snowie Rolie and Snowmen at Night. I also included another book, Winter is Here. The children also had a chance to create the word snow out of marshmallows. (We ate a bunch of marshmallows too!) Finally, we played with "snow." The snow was made of frozen baking soda and tap water. The recipe I had said 2 cups of baking soda to 1 cup of water, but it was more like 1/2 to 3/4 a cup of water to 2 cups of baking soda. It was such a hit that I made more and shared it with 2 classes.
